We go through transitions everyday and we all experience change in different ways. The Neutral Zone is part of the transition process. It’s the place we find ourselves in during a transition when we are between two states. With minor transitions the time spent in the Neutral Zone will be slight. When more profound change occurs, such as the death of a relative or change of job we often spendĀ  far longer in the Neutral Zone.

In February 2007 I finished a post-graduate degree, took a leave of absence from work, packed up my life and bought a one-way ticket to Bangkok. In terms of transitions this puts me way up the scale so I’m in the middle of a huge Neutral Zone right now. Plans have been intentionally left to a minimum as I spend the next few months travelling around Asia.
